Thayer County Health Services (TCHS) Rehabilitation Department is located in the west side of the hospital and has been a part of TCHS since 1985. The rehab staff, dedicated to the mission of TCHS, works to provide services county wide and throughout the surrounding communities. The rehabilitation department services include physical, occupational and speech therapies.

Currently the rehab department provides a multitude of services in many locations:

Onsite Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy
In-Hospital Therapy for acute and swing bed patients
Home Health Therapy
Nursing and Care Home Facilities in Thayer County
Athletic Services to all 3 Thayer County High Schools

The rehabilitation department oversees the hospital's employee exercise program, provides work screens for various organizations in the community, can test for body fat composition via impedance, and is available for presentations on various topics privately or to the public.


Staff

Physical Therapy


Bradley D. Cooper, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS joined the rehabilitation staff as the department head in June of 2000. He received his Master’s and Doctorate of Physical therapy from the University of NE medical Center, Omaha. Brad became board certified as an Orthopeadic Specialist by the APTA in 2007 and as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in October 2004.


Steven E. Williams, PT, DPT joined the rehabilitation staff in July 2010. He received his Doctoratein Physical Theray from Clark College in Dubuque, IA.


Traci Zelenka, CPTA has worked in the rehabilitation department of the hospital since 1998. She received her Physical therapy assistant diploma at Colby, Kansas and is certified in the state of Nebraska. Traci has been recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association with certification in advance clinical knowledge in the area of orthopeadics.

Occupational Therapy


Kelly Little, OTR/L joined the TCHS rehab team in March 2008. She received her Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in Omaha in December 2000. Kelly's previous experience includes working with pediatrics, traumatic brain injuries, CVA's and burn injuries. She received her physical agent modality licensure in April 2007 and is trained in using the Bioness H200 splint. Kelly provides services to patients throughout Thayer County and the surrounding counties.
